Awhile back I read some things on Jerry Pournelle's Chaos Manor day book. This had to do with an outfit called Nemesysco Ltd's layered-voice-stress-analysis technology (LVA 6.50) which they claim can provide a psychological assessment of what's behind a verbal response. (For a more detailed account one can google Nemesysco Ltd.) If this technology is as effective as presented it can usher in some very far reaching changes in how society conducts its business.

Re: Voice-Stress-Analysis
Sun, January 20, 2008 - 9:14 AMIt actually has.
This is the reason why castomer service "voice" tells you that " now, you can speak your answers instead of pressing buttons". It asks you several questions, you answer them, and it analyses your level of stress with this software. If it is too high, it automatically turns on recorder and transferes you to the castomer service representative who has a specific training to deal with this. This is also done with especially rude and obnoxcious castomers (meaning, thos doing it A-a-all the time). Their accounts a directly "hooked up" to a recorder, At All Times. As soon as, he/she dials the number, the system begins asking questions (AND recording the answers(!), if you say "Shut up, stupid machine!" or smth. like that it records EVERYthing and puts it into your file), after a few of those questions, if you are really, REALLY pissed, it can put you on hold for a ve-e-e-ery, ve-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ery long time, until you calm down and come to senses. Or simply hang up.
